On 18 and 19 November 2014 a record number of 115 delegrates gathered in Antwerp, Belgium, for the annual benchmarking workshop. The workshop included dicussions on the preliminary results of the performance assessment, a site visit to Aquafin's R&D-centre and WWTP Antwerpen-Zuid and sessions to exchange good practices.
Host company Aquafin had arranged meeting facilities in the impressive historical buildings for the University of Antwerp. The workshop included dicussions on the preliminary results of the performance assessment, a site visit to Aquafin's R&D-centre and WWTP Antwerpen-Zuid and sessions to exchange good practices. Next to representatives from utilities that participate in the IB2013 benchmarking exercise, delegates from the EU-funded Kenyan benchmarking project, the Danube Water Program and a World Bank-led project for Peru and Honduras joined the workshop as a guest to experience what it's like. During the workshop dinner in the beautiful 'Palace on the Meir', Nathalie Deconinck (IECBW, Belgium) and Fedja Rustempasic (Sydvatten, Sweden) were handed the benchmarking Co-ordinator of the Year Award. Congratulations to both of them!
