IB2010 workshop in Oslo

On 6 & 7 October 2011 about 70 water & wastewater utility representatives gathered in Oslo, Norway for EBC's fifth annual benchmarking workshop. The workshop was co-organised by Oslo kommune VAV, the water & wastewater utility for the city of oslo. Venue was the inspiring Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica, a former sanatorium situated on the hills north of Oslo and at walking distance from the famous Olympic ski jump.

During the workshop, the delegates discussed the results of the assessment phase of the benchmarking exercise and exchanged best practices in management and operations. They also visited Oslo's water- and wastewater treatment plants that are excavated in the mountains because of the cold climate and to reduce the impact on the landscape.

At the workshop dinner, a new tradition started when representatives of Aquanet (Poznan, Poland) and Canal de Isabel II (Madrid, Spain) received the "Benchmarking Co-ordinator of the Year"-award from the EBC-team.  

Both the EBC-team and the delegates remember a successful workshop with many new contacts and lots of ideas for further performance improvement!
